Built Around Wigram’s Aviation History
The Landing stands on the former Wigram Aerodrome, a place closely connected with some of New Zealand’s earliest aviation achievements.
When Wigram Skies was developed, this history became part of the new community. The Landing’s name, central thoroughfare known as The Runway, folded rooflines and angular architecture all reference the aerodrome that once occupied the site.
Ngāi Tahu values, warm natural materials, native planting and welcoming public spaces bring another layer to the design, creating a town centre that feels distinctly connected to Wigram.

Driving and Customer Parking
The Landing can be accessed from The Runway and Corsair Drive. Convenient customer parking is available throughout the precinct, with spaces located close to shops, cafés, restaurants and service businesses.
Getting Here by Bus
Metro bus services operate close to The Landing. Route 60 stops at Corsair Drive by The Landing and provides connections through Barrington, Christchurch Hospital, the central city and towards Southshore. Route 100 also serves the Wigram area. Because routes and timetables can change, visitors should check the latest journey information before travelling.
